Guyana’s Shondell Alfred won over
Trinidad’s hometown favorite Vicky Boodram,
34 seconds of the third round. Apparently it was not a good night for
Boodram, when she received a severe boxing lesson by Alfred, getting knocked
down three times, when they were fighting for the Women's International
Boxing Association (Ibero) Latin American bantamweight title. David Brewster
of the Trinidad Express News wasted few words in criticizing this lop-sided
match.

At the "Tomorrow's Champions" card in Aalborg, Denmark,
Alexandra Matheus,
125 3/4, won a clear points decision in her second pro fight against
Shondell "Mystery Lady" Alfred, 119, of Guyana. All three judges
scored the bout 40-36 in favour of Matheus. It was a very action-packed bout
where skills defeated aggression.

Ria Ramnarine,
110, won an eight-round split decision in a flyweight division over Shondell
Thomas, 112. The fight was promoted by the Guyana Boxing Board. Ria
dominated the fight landing clean one-two's and uppercuts to her more
aggressive opponent, who was intent on landing a big right hand. Ria's
movement around the ring helped her frustrate her opponent. Also,
