  Misc Info:

January 25, 2001, Centennial Garden Arena, Bakersfield, CA
In the six-round co-main event
, Lisa Holewyne (140 lbs??) of Crawford, Texas narrowly defeated Brenda Bell Drexel (138??) of Austin, Texas, by majority decision. One judge scored the bout a draw (57-57), while two judges scored the bout 58-56 in Ms. Holewyne's favor. There were no knockdowns in a tough match between contrasting styles, which led to frequent clinches and tie-ups but also saw determined effort and solid punches. On the whole, it was a very worthy match for a co-main event.  On the undercard, in a rock 'em, sock 'em 4 rounder, Sunshine Fettkether (149), in her professional debut in conventional boxing, lost a unanimous decision to hometown favorite Debbie Foster (146). While there were no knockdowns, this match saw many hard, staggering blows that thrilled the highly vocal, enthusiastic crowd and left Ms. Fettkether's nose bloodied and both women marked around the eyes.  Ms. Foster advances to 3-1 with the victory. Ms. Fettkether, of course, is well-known to most readers as one of the preeminent women in Muay Thai. Despite the loss, she showed great promise in the added discipline of Western-style boxing.  All 3 judges scored the match 39-37.  The matches took place before a superb, enthusiastic, appreciative audience (for both men's and women's matches). Crowd estimate - 2,000? 3,000? Fight report by Craig (Thanks Craig!!. )
