Kara Ro
(132 lbs) of Windsor, Ontario easily won the WIBA Intercontinental Lightweight title with a 79-72,79-74,78-73 eight-round decision over the veteran Tracy Byrd (129 lbs) of Detroit. Ro had more power in her punches and sent Byrd to the canvas with a long right in the sixth, while Byrd was unable to get inside Ro's defense enough.
