In the main event, Regina Halmich, won a
10-round unanimous decision over Daisy Lang
and won the vacant IWBF jr. bantamweight world title. Halmich moved up two
weight classes to achieve this feat. According to WBAN's insider, Halmich
chased Lang during the fight. Final judges scores were 96-94, 97-93, 96-94.
In a post-fight interview, both Halmich
and Lang were interviewed after the fight. Halmich apologized, that the
fight was not exactly the women's fight of the year, and blamed Lang for
running backwards and not wanting to fight. Lang on the other hand
thought she was robbed. She said that she won all 10 rounds, and that
Halmich hardly got any punches through. Lang explained that she was a
counter boxer, and that anybody who knew anything about boxing could see
that she won the fight. WBAN had two reports about this fight, which both
said that the fight was one-sided with Halmich winning this match. In
the co-main event, Marischa Sjauw of
Holland, fought Germany's Heidi Hartmann.
Hartmann captured the vacant WIBF-GBU welterweight world title after the
fight was stopped due to a cut. According to WBAN's insider, the fight was
stopped between the 9th and 10th round, when the female ring doctor stopped
Sjauw, due to a cut that had apparently happened in the sixth round by a
clashing of heads. The TV commentator expressed surprise at the decision,
which was increased when it was announced that Sjauw lost by RSC, which is
only used in amateur boxing-----then later changed it to a TKO.
Other results: Super Bantamweight
Austria's Urbaez Urena won a six-round
unanimous over Mariann Pampuk; Flyweight
Julia Sahin TKO’d
Anca Popovic in the fourth round in a scheduled Flyweight
six-rounder; Super Featherweight Ina Menzer
KO’d Andrej Medelina in the first
round; Bantamweight Alesia Graf won a
six-round unanimous decision over Simone Sucio;
and in a three-round bout, unknown if it was amateur, lightweights Sonja
Dürr won three rounds over Carmen Falke.
March 2, 2004 - Hamburg, Germany
Former World Boxing Champion Daisy Lang, 116 3/4, won an eight-
round unanimous decision over Mariann Pampuk, 115 3/4, who is
now at 19 losses, no wins. The local news reported that Lang had the
upper hand in the full distance, but she couldn't find the form of her
former glory. In the second Women's Match, Alesia Graf, 130
3/4, stopped Marinna Zhekova in the second round. One insider
reported that the fight was fairly one-sided and the referee stopped the
fight in the second round.

Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, in Stuttgart, Germany
Daisy Lang won a majority decision in a 10-round GBU
Super-Bantamweight Title fight over Silke Weickenmeier in a rematch
for the two. In what was considered a controversial decision, the final
judging was 95-95 (draw), 96-94 (Lang), 96-94 (Lang). What was to be
televised on ZDF, ended up showing only the first two rounds and the last
round. Of what was shown there was a lot of in-close fighting and
holding. Both boxers had apparently received a cut from accidental
headbutts. Daisy had a swollen nose, and Silke had a cut above her left
eye. Lang is now 17-1-1 (6KO), and Silke is now 14-4-3 (0KO).
BAD GIRL, BAD
GIRL, WHATCHA...GONNA DO...
By Sue TL Fox -November 1, 2002
In the
German News "Bad Girl" Daisy Lang found herself
in court after she beat up a male Taxi Driver, after they had an argument
over the taxi fare from the Airport to the city of Hamburg. According
the news source, the case was settled in court yesterday,
where the driver claimed 1000 EURO damage by Lang. Lang said that
she did not, and the judge told the two of them to agree to an amount
between them. Lang ended up paying 475 EURO (Approx 475
$).

Regina Halmich won a
very convincing points decision over Nadja Loritz. The judges scored
the bout 98-92, 100-90 and 99-91. Nadja Loritz was simply outclassed by
Regina Halmich. She looked unskilled and slow, and her only quality was the
ability to absorb a lot of punches.Photos..........Round

In another women's match, Daisy
Lang and Silke Weickenmeier resulted in a majority draw. Lang came into the fight with a serious
knee injury that gave her problems in the later rounds..
Silke, stole the show in a flashy outfit, had to lose 7 kg (15 lbs) to make
the weight. Geudens who reported the results commented, "From what I
saw, I would have given the fast-moving Silke a slight advantage."
One judge gave it to Silke, the other for Daisy and the third called it a
draw. Photos...

April 6, 2002 - Hamburg, Germany
Daisy
Lang, 15-1-0
defended her WIBF title by defeating Réka
Krempf, 2-1-1....One observer, Fernando Rojo, said that the
fight was "extremely boring." On WBAN's Boxing Rumble
Forum, Jon Fox from the UK said the following about the fight: "Daisy
Lang has just beaten Reka Krempf on points in defence of her WIBF World
Junior Bantamweight title. All three judges only gave the Hungarian
challenger a single round. But Krempf was introduced to the gullible
Hamburg spectators as being 6-0-1 whereas we know (do we not, folks?) that
she's a mere 2-0-1, having had her first pro fight on 9th February last
(against Gyongyi
Szucs - 0-1-1), her second pro fight on 22nd February
(against Angela
Nagy - 1-5-1) and her third pro fight on 12th of last month
(against Olena
Samoday whose only previous experience was 2 defeats at the hands
of Szilvia
Csicsely way back in 2000). It's not therefore surprising
that Ms. Krempf was more technically limited even than Daisy. Hence
the result. As for the fight, very little leather was landed in
anger. It rarely is in a Lang fight. This is a lady who seems
devoted to the strict rationing of thrills. Neither fighter came
remotely close to being hurt or in trouble. Then everybody went
home. What a waste of time.
RIP OFF OR NOT?
HAMBURG (SEPT 29) The WIBF World Junior
Bantamweight title fight between Daisy Lang and Michelle
Sutcliffe came to an end in Hamburg tonight when Lang failed to answer
the bell for the 8th round because of a bad gash over her left eye.
However, because the injury was held to have resulted from a clash of
heads, the fight went to the cards and Lang was declared the unanimous
winner (68-66; 67-66; 68-66). One boxing fan, Jon Fox, said, "I
have two problems with this. Firstly, it is correct that there was a
meeting of heads early in round 7 but no blood was in evidence until late
in the round after Sutcliffe had landed in the area of Lang's left eye
with at least 3 good overhead rights. Secondly, at the end of round 7,
I had Sutcliffe winning by 69-66." Another boxing fan said,
"There has just been a robbery in Germany. Daisy Lang was deemed by
the ringside doctor, to not be able to continue, because of a cut caused
by her opponents punches, YET Lang did NOT lose. In fact she was given the
decision because she was ahead on points. She WON. What a fix!"
