Ria Ramnarine of Trinidad won an 8-rd unanimous. decision and became the
new Latin American mini-flyweight champion over
Diedre Hamaguchi.
There were no knockdowns. Judges scores 79-75, 79-73, and 78-74.

Ria Ramnarine, 110, won a 112-lb six-round
unanimous decision over Vicki Boodram, both are from Trinidad.
There were no knockdown in the six-rounder, but Ramnarine and Boodram had
the boxing fans off their seats in this action-packed six-rounder. In
the "Internet Express" online news source, they described the fight as the
following: "RIA
RAMNARINE, five feet two inches and coming in at 110 pounds, grabbed all
the plaudits from super welterweight Floyd Trumpet in the first of a
series of monthly professional bouts staged by Cosmic Promotions last
Saturday night. Ramnarine had the Saith Park crowd in Chaguanas
jumping off their seats as she pounded out a unanimous six-round decision
over game and promising Vicki Boodram of Princes Town.
Based in Carapichaima,
24-year-old Ramnarine, an employee of National Flour Mills, won by six
clear points on all scorecards."
Final judges scores was 60-54
on all judges scorecards.

Ria Ramnarine,
110, won an eight-round split decision in a flyweight division over
Shondell
Thomas, 112. The fight was promoted by the Guyana Boxing Board. Ria
dominated the fight landing clean one-two's and uppercuts to her more
aggressive opponent, who was intent on landing a big right hand. Ria's
movement around the ring helped her frustrate her opponent. Also, Featherweight

of Trinidad at 0:54. Another women's match that ended in a win by
disqualification was between Melissa Charles
of Trinidad who won over
Gwendolyn O'Neil of Guyana by a disqualification.
