June 13, 2003 - Thunderbird Casino in Norman, Oklahoma
Lisa Holewyne, 145,  Crawford, Texas, won a six-round unanimous decision over Britt VanBuskirk, 147, Carbondale, Illinois. Holewyne is now 17-9-1 (5KO). Britt is to 9-16-2 (5KO).

May 31, 2003 - Jarrell’s Gym, in Savannah, Georgia
There were two women’s bouts on a card of five scheduled matches.  The first match featured seasoned veteran Mitzi Jeter. Jeter, 150.5, won a hard fought six-rounder over Bonnie Mann, 151.  The two had several clashes of the heads throughout the fight.  Mann told WBAN that although she did not win the bout, that for her it was still a victory to go the distance in her first six-round bout, against an experienced boxer.  Mann said, “I want to take on the best and have a benchmark from which I can improve and fine tune my training to become even better. So for others who are out there who may not have the best records in the world....don't worry about it. Just keep training and learn from every fight.”  In the second women’s match, Chevelle Hallback won a six-round unanimous decision over Britt VanBuskirk.  Hallback displayed this night her technical skills and dominated the fight.  Britt was game and hung in there until the end.

August 16, 2002 - Sunset Station, San Antonio, Texas
Maribel Zurita won a four-round decision over Terry Moss of Athens, Georgia, in a 108-pound bout.  MySanAntonio.com said the following: "Zurita asserted control in the second round and ended it with a five-punch flurry. She went to her corner waving her right fist in the air. The former Highlands graduate continued to load up on her left hook and straight right as she pressed the attack in the third and fourth rounds. Zurita won on all three judges' cards, 39-37."  Zurita is now 5-2-1 (1KO), and Moss fell to 0-2-0 (0KO)In a second women's match Austin's Lisa Holewyne, 145.5, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Britt VanBuskirk, 145. Holewyne improved her record to 15-8-1 (6KO), and VanBuskirk fell to 7-13-2 (2KO).

February 1, 2002-Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
At the Coca Cola Center, another women’s matchup donned the main event! Sumya "The Island Girl" Anani, 143, fought a non-stop eight rounder against Britt VanBuskirk, 144, that had the crowd off their seats. Anani won the fight by a unanimous decision. Tony Holden of "Lets Get It On" Promotions said that he plans to try and have a women’s match on all of his cards. Anani required stitches over her right eye after the fight.

BRITT'S RESPONSE TO DISQUALIFICATION
My position concerning the July 14, 2001 WIBA title fight between Gina Guidi and myself is as follows.  On Oct 16th Gina has the opportunity to appeal the commissions findings until the commission reconfirms its decision nothing is
finalized.
During the ten-round WIBA bout on July 14th.  I did not notice Gina’s performance to be inhibited or enhanced by any narcotic.  Having competed in 35 professional women’s boxing bouts over the last 23 years, I found Gina’s effort to be genuinely an athletic one.  If the commission decides on October 16th that Gina was not with in the requirements of the state and lets the disqualification stand I am not interested in representing the WIBA.  The WIBA had no representatives present at the weigh in. The WIBA had all local judges (Marty Salmon, Steve Elish and Mike Tate. The California state athletic commission said they were seated by the promoter, approved and licensed by the commission and all from California.)   The WIBA never contacted me to tell me that Gina has been disqualified, which does affect my record.  In the future Lisa Holewyne will defend her world title against me on Oct. 20th in Canyonville, Oregon.  The weight will be 142 lbs. Thank you for your time. Love and uppercuts,  Britt VanBuskirk,  10/1/2001

October 20, 2001 Seven Feathers Hotel and Casino Resort, Canyonville, Oregon
Sumya Anani, 142 1/2,  got sweet revenge when she avenged her only loss to Britt VanBuskirk, 141.  Anani won by 10-round unanimous  decision, and won the vacant GBU Title belt.  final scoring was 100-90, 100-91, and 100-91.

July 14, 2001, Centennial Hall- Hayward, California
The four fight card pitted Gina “Boom Boom” Guidi against Britt VanBuskirk for the WIBA Super Welterweight belt in the ten- round main event. In more women’s action Mary Tourtlotte and Andrea “The Cobra” Johnson both made their pro debuts in a scheduled four rounder. Also in attendance was one of the best  “pound- for-pound” fighters in the world, Lucia Rijker.  Mary Tourtlotte, from San Jose, CA, won an impressive four-round unanimous decision against Andrea Johnson,  San Francisco, CA. Mary repeatedly used a stiff left jab to keep Andrea at a safe distance and then followed up with straight rights to stun Andrea on several occasions during the fight. Johnson was tough and put together some good combinations of her own but it wasn’t enough as Tourtlotte was in control of the fight from the beginning. There were no knockdowns. Gina Guidi, San Leandro, CA, scored a tough ten- round decision against Britt VanBuskirk, Illinois, to earn the WIBA Super Welterweight crown. Britt was the busier of the two fighters but Guidi landed the more telling blows. There were no knockdowns in the fight.  Van Buskirk was content to fight on the inside most  of the night. She threw many punches but none with “mean intentions.” Gina landed hard rights to Britt's nose round after round forcing Van Buskirk’s corner to deal with a constant bloody nose. Gina finished the fight strong and it was enough to earn her a points win.   FULL STORY, GO HERE

April 12, 2001, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Atlanta, GeorgiaMitzi Jeter, 145,  fought Britt VanBuskirk,146, in a six-round bout and won by a unanimous decision.  VanBuskirk dropped to 10-12-1, and Mitzi's record improved to 15-3-1.  Also on the card, Nina Ahlin  of Atlanta won a six-round bout against Sarah Goodson (JONES) of Arkansas.  According to boxing-records.com which is much like Fightfax, this is Ahlin's fourth time fighting Goodson-Jones! Ahlin has fought Jones-Goodson on the following prior dates, Jun-11-1999, Bay Saint-Louis) Sara Jones (Goodson) TKO 1; Nov-26-1999, Nouvelle- Orleans) Sara Jones (Goodson) - Decision for Ahlin; Jan-19-2001, Bay Saint-Louis) Nina Ahlin won six-round decision.   Ahlin has now defeated Goodson-Jones four times.   In attendance at the fights were boxing greats such as Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran and Jerry Cooney.
