Misc Info:
Kathy "Shake Em Down" Williams, so named
because of her occupation as a Policewoman in Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada,
is currently the #1 ranked contender for the WIBF junior Bantam weight
Title. The title is now held by Daisy Lang. Williams has an amateur record
of 25-6 and an impressive record of 11-1 as a professional. The one defeat
suffered at the hands of Jamilla Lawrence was later avenged in a rematch as
Williams took a unanimous decision over Lawrence.... Kathy was born and
raised in Montreal Quebec, Canada. She attended high school there,
participating in basketball in the winter and softball in the summer. She
attended Bishop's University, which is close to Montreal. She graduated with
a double major in business and psychology. As a youngster, Kathy was
introduced to boxing at a sports camp at the age of eleven, and particpated
for about two years. However , she did not resume boxing again until she
moved to Thunder bay, and began participating in Amateur boxing. Kathy also
has ballet training.

- Sky Ute Casino, in Ignacio, Colorado Adriana Delgado,
of Albuquerque, New Mexico, won a unanimous decision over
Canadian Kathy Williams for the vacant IFBA 118-lb
Bantamweight title fight. According to the Durango Herald,
Williams who was a bit taller than Delgado used her
long-distance jab against Delgado throughout the fight. In the
third round Delgado rocked Williams back with an overhand right,
and then followed it up with a flurry of combinations. In the
eighth round Williams came out with her barrage of combinations.
Final scoring was 97-93, 97-93, and 97-94.

the vacant IFBA Jr.
featherweight belt in a scheduled 10-rounder and STOPPED Williams
1:19 seconds in the ninth round. Scotty Johnson who was ON SCENE at
the fights said that Foster knocked Williams down in the first round, and
that in the ninth, when Williams was knocked down, the ref stopped the

Thursday night at the Miller Lite Texas Title Belt Series at Jacob Brown
Auditorium got lots of bang for their buck as the main event featuring two
seasoned female boxers went the distance. But in the end, defending champion
Kathy Williams (13-3-0-4), 33, of Thunder Bay, Canada took the eight
round Title fight, defeating Delia "Chikita" Gonzalez
(11-6-2-3), 30, of El Paso by unanimous decision. Source:

January 19, 2001 - Mt. Pleasant, Michigan
Ada "The
Ace" Velez became the new IBA Bantamweight Champion after
fighting her first 10-round title bout against Kathy
Williams at the Soaring Eagle Casino, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Velez won by a unanimous decision, 99-91, 97-93,
100-90. WBAN's Inside reporter said that there were no
knockdowns in the 10-rounder, and that Kathy received two accidental
headbutts, due to the height difference. Velez moved her record to
7-0-0 (4KO), and Williams is now 11-3-0 (4KO).
February 5, 2000

Daisy Lang of
Bulgaria defeated Kathy
Williams, of Thunder Bay,
Canada, for the WIBF Jr. Bantamweight title with a
ten-round unanimous decision. Final scores 97-95,
98-91, and 97-94. Lang’s record is now 10-1(5ko),
and Williams has dropped to 10-2 (4ko). The other
women’s bout was with Michele Aboro, who defeated
Eva Jones-Young who is from South Bend, Indiana for
the vacant WIBF Jr. Featherweight title. The fight was
a 10-rounder, and Aboro won by a unanimous decision.
Aboro is still undefeated at 15-0 (10ko), Eva dropped
to 13-3-1 (5ko).
November 2, 2000 - Texas
Kathy William (12-2) defeated Leona Brown
in a close
decision. According to news sources, "Kathy
Williams had moments of brilliance, while Brown found a home for
her overhand right." Williams was defending her
Miller Lite Bantamweight title.
Brown is now 8-5. Final scores 79-73, 76-75, 76-75.
On August 29, 2000 -
Honolulu, Hawaii
Kathy Williams
defeated Tracy Moulton for the vacant IBA
Junior Bantamweight Championship. The final
scoring was 100-88, 100-88, 99-91 Williams is now
11-2, and Moulton fell to 4-3. Go
