Misc Info:
October 4, 2001 - Del Rio Civic Center,
Texas
Last night at the Del Rio Civic Center, and in front of a packed house of
1,000 boxing fans, Patricia Acosta of Allen fought "One Round KO
fighter" Victoria "Little T" Lara of
Jacksonville in a super featherweight bout. No, Folks, Lara does not KO her
opponents.... She gets KO'd or TKO'D in the first round. According to Del Rio
Herald "Acosta was a fan favorite due mainly to her being born in, and
still having family in, Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. Acosta’s
(3-0-1, 2 KOs) bout didn’t last one round. Fifty-nine seconds
into the fight, Acosta dropped Lara (0-4-0) to the canvas with a right to
the head. Lara made it back to her feet, but the referee saw Lara was unable
to continue and stopped the fight. After the fight, Acosta motioned to
her left and waved at her family that had come out to watch her
fight. Lara was a last minute opponent for Acosta."
