October 25, 2003 - Szolinok,
Hungary
At the arena of Szolnok (Hungary) and in front of 3,500
boxing fans with the arena nearly packed, Viktória Miló, 111, of
Hungary, retained her
WIBF-GBU super-flyweight world champion belt against German challenger,
Maya Frenzel, 112 3/4.
At the very beginning Viktoria seemed to be cramped and her opponent had
some chance to punch her, but Milo got more precise and succeeded in hitting
the German with clear punches that really surprised the challenger. After the first minute of the
first round, Viktória started to steady and was gradually increasing her
superiority. After the first round she dominated and in the 4th round she
almost managed to knock the German out and Frenzel hardly could resist
during the remaining 2 minutes of the round.
In the rest of the rounds Frenzel did not try to do anything but keeping
clear of getting knocked out.
In the last three rounds Milo's ascendancy was so remarkable that the
Hungarian talent stood a good chance to finish the lopsided match. She did
manage to win the match before the final bell since the
referee stopped the bout because Frenzel was unable to take any more blows. Since Viktória Miló
retained her belt she has a big chance to fight the undisputed Regina
Halmich of this division. Report and photos by Jolly Dee of Hungary,
